As one of the oldest schools in Ceres, serving students since 1949, Don Pedro Elementary School has evolved over the past six decades by increasing the number of classrooms, expanding parking for staff and parents, all while steadily growing in the number of students served each year.

Currently Don Pedro Elementary School serves over 500 students in transitional kindergarten through sixth grade.

The goal over the past few years for Ceres Unified was to modernize older schools to bring each facility up to the same high quality standard that exists on newer campuses.

Don Pedro Elementary received a new classroom/administration wing that houses a pre-school program and the main school office. .Additional changes to the campus included the relocation of the student drop-off zone that ensures vehicles can move steadily through the zone without impacting street traffic, ultimately increasing the safety of students entering and exiting the campus. The bus zone was also redesigned, eliminating parking near the area in which students are loading and unloading from buses.

Don Pedro Elementary School is a tobacco free school.
